Keeping your water safe through expert control of Legionella bacteria
With a large and varied portfolio of residential and academic properties the control and prevention of legionella bacteria at universities can be a complex and demanding issue.
Dantek have helped many universities ensure they are meeting their HSE obligations and have provided a range of statutory compliance services including legionella risk assessments, tank cleaning, showerhead cleaning and water treatment.
Why Dantek?
We have learned so much from our previous wealth of experience built up over many years of working within the HE sector, this allows us to understand the unique challenges universities face in regard to legionella control and how best to overcome them.
How will we help your university?
Our free electronic logbook ensures easy management of multiple assets to report on non-compliances and prioritise actions efficiently.
All our Engineers are DBS checked, wear a uniform and carry ID so they can easily be identified by staff and students.
We are used to the wide variety of building type typically found across a university campus and will advise on the best approach to legionella control specific to your site.
We can fit work to suit the academic calendar and are aware of the importance of keeping disruption minimal. We offer a complete solution so you only need to deal with one contractor for all aspects of legionella control.
What do you need to do?
The first step to compliance is ensuring your legionella risk assessments are current.
As a result of the risk assessment there may be some remedial work required, for example, water tank cleaning or plumbing alterations.
Regular temperature monitoring is required to ensure control measures remain effective. This can be done by our trained technicians or we can provide comprehensive training for your maintenance staff to carry out temperature checks, which will save you money while ensuring compliance.
As a senior maintenance manager for the University of South Wales I am responsible for 5 campuses, that’s around 1300 student apartments and 60 additional buildings.
